First-launch friction, demystified.
JEP is built by an independent developer. macOS may show a one-time warning the first time you run it. Here's what to expect.
macOS — open the .dmg, drag JEP into Applications.
Standard macOS install. Eject the disk image after. First launch: right-click JEP → Open, then click Open in the dialog if macOS asks.
Set a PIN, pick a folder, you're done.
Onboarding walks you through your first lock. No account, no telemetry, no network calls. Everything stays local.
Hit a snag? Email help@justenoughprivacy.com — replies come from a human, not a queue.
Lock more than one folder.
The free tier's one-flat-folder limit is there to keep things honest. If JEP earns a spot in your workflow, the paid tier is a one-time purchase — no subscription, 14-day refund window.
